We take a minimalist approach to data:

  • No ads or tracking: We do not use third-party ad networks or cross-app behavioral tracking.

  • No AI training: We do not use your data to train third-party AI or machine learning models.

  • No precise location: The App does not collect your GPS coordinates or require continuous location access.

  • Apple-only billing: If we offer in-app purchases or subscriptions, they are processed solely through Apple In-App Purchase. We never access your full card details.

Intended use: The App is symbolic and educational in nature. It is not a substitute for medical, legal, or financial advice.

SPECIAL NOTE:

This Privacy Policy is designed to be read alongside our Terms of Service. If there is any conflict between those Terms and this Privacy Policy regarding how we handle your data, this Privacy Policy governs.

2. DATA WE COLLECT

a. Data You Provide

We collect the following personal data when you choose to provide it through the App or our Site:

  • Personalization Inputs

    Optional fields such as your name, date of birth, and location (city/region). These are used solely to generate symbolic or educational content within the App. We do not use this data for identification, tracking, or advertising.

  • Account Information (if account features are offered)

    If you create an account, we may collect:
     - Email address
     - Passcode or
     - Sign in with Apple token (see Section 6).
     We do not receive your Apple ID password.

  • Support & Contact Forms

    If you contact us via email or submit a form on our Site, we collect the contents of your message and your email address to respond to your request.
    Please avoid sharing sensitive personal information (e.g., health data, government ID numbers) in support messages.

We do not request or collect information such as payment card numbers, social security numbers, or precise geolocation data. Any personal data you provide is used strictly to operate or support the App and Site.

b. Data Collected Automatically

When you use the App or visit our Site, we collect certain technical data automatically to help us maintain, secure, and improve our services. This data does not identify you personally.

In the App:

  • App version and device/OS details (e.g., iPhone model, iOS version)

  • Language and time zone settings

  • Crash reports and performance logs (if enabled via Apple diagnostics)

  • De-identified usage events (e.g., which screens are used most)

On our Website (wearemagic.life):

  • IP address, browser type, device/OS, pages viewed, and timestamps

  • Cookies and similar technologies used for basic site functionality and limited analytics (see Section 12)

This data helps us understand general usage patterns, detect issues (like bugs or crashes), and ensure the App and Site function properly across different devices and regions.

We do not use third-party ad trackers or analytics platforms that build behavioral profiles across other apps or websites.

c. Apple-Controlled Billing Records (Future Feature)

If we introduce in-app purchases or subscriptions, all payments will be processed exclusively through Apple’s In‑App Purchase system using your Apple ID.

Apple acts as the payment processor and controller of related billing data. This means:

  • We do not collect or have access to your full payment card details or Apple ID billing information.

  • Apple maintains records such as your purchase history, receipts, and subscription status tied to your Apple ID.

  • We can view only limited, non-sensitive records (for example, to verify that a subscription is active).

For your convenience:

We cannot modify, delete, or access Apple’s billing records directly. Your financial information remains managed solely by Apple in accordance with their Privacy Policy.

3. WHY WE USE DATA (Purposes)

We collect and use your data only for the following purposes:

  • To provide and personalize the App experience

    • We use optional inputs like name, date of birth, and city/region to generate symbolic or educational outputs that align with the purpose of the App.

  • To maintain security and prevent abuse

    • We may use technical data (e.g., device info, IP address, usage patterns) to detect bots, scraping, or other misuse, and to investigate potential security issues.

  • To improve the App and Site

    • Crash reports, diagnostics, and de-identified usage data help us monitor performance, fix bugs, and enhance the overall experience.

  • To respond to you and communicate when needed

    • We use your email address and message content if you reach out to support or complete a form. We may also send service-related messages or push notifications (if enabled).

  • To comply with legal, platform, and export requirements

    • We process data as needed to meet legal obligations, Apple’s platform rules, and applicable export/sanctions laws.

We do not use your data for advertising, tracking, or profiling beyond the essential functionality described above.

5. HOW WE SHARE DATA (Service Providers & Disclosures)

We do not sell your personal data. We also do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising or tracking.

We only share your data in limited circumstances and only with trusted third parties who help us operate the App and Site. These third parties act as service providers or data processors, meaning they can use your data only on our instructions and for our purposes — never for their own marketing or advertising.

We currently use the following categories of service providers:

  • Hosting and infrastructure (e.g., Squarespace)

  • Support tools (e.g., Zoho Mail, Google Forms/Sheets)

  • Apple platform services (e.g., App Store Connect diagnostics, Sign in with Apple)

We may also disclose data:

  • To our affiliates (if any), under common control and bound by this Policy.

  • To legal authorities, when required to comply with applicable law or valid legal process.

  • In business transitions, such as a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, where your data may be transferred as part of that transaction.

  • With your explicit consent or at your direction.

We may also use de-identified or aggregated data (not linked to you) for analytics or research.

6. SIGN IN WITH APPLE (If You Use It)

If you choose to create an account using Sign in with Apple, we receive the following from Apple:

  • Your email address — this may be your real email or a private relay email (Apple’s “Hide My Email” feature)

  • A secure identity token used to authenticate your session

We do not receive your Apple ID password, and we do not use this data for anything beyond login and account support.

If you delete your account (see Section 11), we invalidate any associated Sign in with Apple tokens. Your Apple ID and email forwarding remain under your control via Apple.

We never use your Sign in with Apple details for advertising, tracking, or third-party sharing.

7. THIRD PARTY SERVICES (Currently Active)

We use a small number of trusted third-party services to help us operate the App and Site. These providers act as data processors or service providers, meaning they process personal data only on our behalf and under strict contractual terms.

A. Squarespace (Website Hosting)

  • Purpose: Hosts our public website at wearemagic.life, including any native contact or landing forms.

  • Data processed:
     • Form inputs (e.g., name, email, message)
     • Standard website telemetry (IP address, browser/device info, page views, timestamps)
     • Functional and limited analytics cookies

  • Legal basis: Contractual necessity / Legitimate interests (to operate and secure the site)

  • Controls: We use a cookie banner and route form submissions internally.

  • Policies:

B. Google Forms / Google Sheets (Voluntary Surveys & Contact Intake)

  • Purpose: Collect and store responses to voluntary feedback forms, surveys, or contact forms.

  • Data processed:
     • Fields you submit (e.g., name, email, message)
     • Timestamp and form metadata
     • Limited device/browser data processed by Google for security and service delivery

  • Legal basis: Contractual necessity / Legitimate interests (to respond to your request or feedback)

  • Controls: Access restricted to authorized personnel; periodic deletion/minimization of submissions

C. Zoho Mail (Support Email Processing)

  • Purpose: Receive and respond to emails sent to support@wearemagic.life

  • Data processed:
     • Your email address, display name, message content, and any attachments
     • Standard email metadata (e.g., headers, IP of sending server)

  • Legal basis: Contractual necessity / Legitimate interests (to provide support and maintain communication records)

  • Controls: Reasonable retention for support history, then minimized or deleted per our retention policy

SPECIAL NOTE

These services are used only to operate and improve the App or Site. We do not allow them to use your data for their own marketing, analytics, or advertising.

For Apple’s App Store disclosures, these services may map to:

  • Contact Info (email) — if you email us or submit a form

  • User Content — if you include messages or feedback

  • Diagnostics — via Apple’s crash logs (not linked to you)

8. FUTURE INTEGRATIONS (Not Active at Publication)

We may enable the following third-party tools or services in future versions of the App or Site. As of the effective date of this Policy, these are not active — no data is currently shared with them.

If any of these integrations are activated and begin processing personal data, we will:

  • Update this Privacy Policy before data flows

  • Provide in-app or website disclosures as required

Respect all applicable privacy laws and user rights

Possible future services:

  • iCloud (Apple): Optional device-level sync for personalization data

  • Firebase (Google): App analytics, crash reporting, remote config, optional authentication or cloud storage

  • RevenueCat: Validates Apple in-app purchase receipts and subscription entitlements

  • OneSignal: Sends push notifications to opted-in users

  • Mailchimp (or similar): For optional marketing emails or newsletters (with explicit user opt-in)

  • Calendly: For optional scheduling of one-on-one sessions or events

These tools, if enabled, will be configured to minimize data collection and operate strictly as service providers. We will not enable any feature that shares personal data without appropriate safeguards and advance notice.

9. YOUR CHOICES & CONTROLS

You have control over the personal data you share with us. The options below let you manage your privacy preferences:

Delete Account (if account feature is available)

  • You can delete your account directly in the App (when the feature is launched).

  • Or email us at support@wearemagic.life to request deletion.

  • See Section 11 and the Data Deletion Addendum for more.

Push Notifications

  • You can enable or disable notifications anytime in your device’s iOS settings:
    Settings → Notifications → [App Name]

Marketing Emails

  • If you opt in to receive newsletters or updates, you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send.

Website Cookies

  • Use our cookie banner to accept or decline non-essential cookies.

  • You can also control cookies through your browser settings.

Where legally required, we honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals for supported browsers.

10. DATA RETENTION

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law.

Account & Personalization Data

  • Retained while your account is active or as needed to provide the App

  • Deleted upon your request, subject to any legal or technical limitations

Support Messages & Form Submissions

  • Kept for a reasonable period to assist with troubleshooting, support history, or compliance

  • Regularly reviewed and minimized where possible

Backups & Archives

  • May persist for 30–90 days before being automatically overwritten as part of routine system backups

Apple Billing Records

  • Controlled and retained by Apple per their policies

  • We do not have access to your full purchase history or payment details

We apply safeguards to limit access to retained data and routinely delete or de-identify data that is no longer needed.

11. ACCESS, CORRECTION & DELETION (YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS)

Depending on your location, you may have specific rights regarding your personal data. These rights may include the ability to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you

  • Correct inaccurate or outdated information

  • Delete your personal data (subject to legal limitations)

  • Port (export) a copy of data you’ve provided

  • Object to or restrict certain types of processing

  • Withdraw consent, where we rely on it

  • Opt out of sale or sharing (we do not sell or share for advertising)

How to Exercise Your Rights

You can make a request by emailing us at support@wearemagic.life. Please specify what right(s) you wish to exercise. We may need to verify your identity (or the authority of your authorized agent).

We will respond within the time period required by applicable law (typically within 30 days).

You can also contact your local data protection authority if you have concerns about our practices. See Section 19 for region-specific contact information and procedures.

California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

You have additional rights under California law. See Section 19A for a detailed “Notice at Collection” and information on how to submit requests.

Children

The App is not intended for children under 13 (or the age of digital consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from minors without parental consent. If we learn that we have done so, we will delete the data promptly.

12. COOKIES & SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES (WEBSITE)

Our website at https://www.wearemagic.life uses cookies and similar technologies to support essential functionality and limited analytics.

What We Use

  • Essential cookies – Required to operate the website (e.g., page navigation, basic forms).

  • Analytics cookies – May be used (in limited form) to understand general site usage and improve performance.

We do not use cookies for advertising, profiling, or third-party tracking.

Your Controls

  • Cookie banner: When required by law, we display a cookie consent banner giving you control over non-essential cookies.

  • Browser settings: You can also block or delete cookies through your browser preferences.

  • Global Privacy Control (GPC): Where applicable by law, we honor GPC signals sent from supported browsers.

14. INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS

Safeguards for International Transfers (EEA, UK, Switzerland)

Where required by law (e.g., under GDPR or UK GDPR), we rely on appropriate safeguards for cross-border data transfers, such as:

15. BILLING VIA APPLE (FUTURE FEATURE)

If we introduce in-app purchases or subscriptions, all billing will be handled exclusively through Apple’s In‑App Purchase system. This ensures secure processing and full user control through your Apple ID.

Key Points:

  • We do not store or access your payment card details.

  • All purchases and subscriptions are tied to your Apple ID, not directly to us.

  • We can only view limited metadata (e.g., whether a subscription is active) to deliver the correct App functionality.

Managing Your Subscription:

IMPORTANT:

Deleting your App account does not cancel your Apple subscription. You must cancel it directly through your device settings to stop future billing.

16. SOCIAL MEDIA & OFF-PLATFORM CONTENT

We may maintain accounts or content on third-party platforms (such as Instagram, YouTube, or newsletters). However, we do not control those platforms and are not responsible for how they collect, use, or share your personal data.

Your use of those services is governed by their respective privacy policies and terms—not ours.

Additionally:

  • Posts, comments, or content referencing us on social media are public and not covered by this Privacy Policy.

  • If you engage with our content off-platform (e.g., sharing, tagging, commenting), you do so at your own discretion.

17. EXPORT CONTROLS & SANCTIONS

Use of the App and related services is subject to United States export laws and other applicable trade restrictions.

You may not use the App if:

  • You are located in a country or region subject to comprehensive U.S. embargoes or sanctions (e.g., Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, or Crimea)

  • You are on any U.S. government restricted party list, such as the Treasury Department’s Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) List or the Commerce Department’s Denied Persons List

We comply with applicable export and sanctions regulations and reserve the right to restrict access in accordance with these laws.

18. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in:

  • Our features or services

  • Applicable laws or regulatory guidance

  • Business operations or partnerships

If we make material changes, we will notify you by one or more of the following methods:

  • In-App notification

  • Website banner or message

  • Email (if we have your contact on file)

Each version of the Policy is identified by its effective date at the top.

By continuing to use the App or Site after the effective date of an update, you agree to the revised Policy.

ADDENDUM: DATA DELETION POLICY

This section explains how you can delete your personal data and what happens when you do. You can request deletion through the App (when available) or by contacting us directly.

A. In-App Account Deletion (Preferred)

Path:
 App Settings → Account → Delete Account

Effect:

  • Your account and personalization data (name, date of birth, city/region) are removed from active systems

  • Access to account-based features is revoked

  • Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone

B. Request by Email or Web

If you can’t access the App, email us at support@wearemagic.life or submit a form at wearemagic.life/support.
Requests must come from the email linked to the account or include sufficient verification.

We typically complete verified deletion requests within 7 business days and notify you upon completion.

C. Retained Data (Minimal, Lawful)

We may retain limited data where necessary for:

  • Fraud prevention and security

  • Tax, legal, or accounting obligations

  • System backups and archives (typically 30–90 days)

  • Aggregated or de-identified analytics (non-identifying)

We do not continue using your personalized App data or readings after deletion.

D. Subscriptions & Apple

Important: Deleting your account does not cancel your Apple subscription.

E. Sign in with Apple Users

  • If you signed in with Apple, account deletion also invalidates your identity token

  • Your Apple ID and email settings remain managed by Apple

  • Manage Apple privacy settings at https://appleid.apple.com

F. Timing

  • In-App deletion: Immediate on active systems

  • Email/Web deletion: Usually completed within 7 business days of verification

Backups: Data may persist for 30–90 days until purged from archived systems

19. REGION-SPECIFIC DISCLOSURES

This section provides required disclosures for users in specific regions where privacy laws grant additional rights or impose different obligations. Where laws conflict, we apply the stricter standard.
